 Graduate Career Seminar Held at Istanbul Gelisim University
The "Graduate Career: First Step to Master’s and PhD" seminar, organized by the Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Health Sciences Career Planning and Alumni Communication Commission, was held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the K Block Firnas Auditorium. The event attracted great interest from the Faculty of Health Sciences Dean, Vice Dean, faculty members, and students.

The seminar featured Prof. İzzet Gümüş, Director of IGU Institude of Graduate Studies as the keynote speaker. Prof. Gümüş provided in-depth information on graduate education processes, emphasizing the role of master’s and doctoral programs in academic careers and professional development. He shared key points for a successful academic journey, covering topics such as the graduate application process, thesis and project writing techniques, opportunities for participation in academic research, and national and international scholarship options.

Additionally, the seminar addressed crucial details such as how to initiate scientific research, the academic publishing process, and important considerations when selecting a thesis advisor. Prof. Gümüş offered practical advice to guide students in their academic careers, highlighting the benefits of pursuing graduate studies, particularly in the field of health sciences.
Throughout the seminar, students had the opportunity to ask questions about the graduate education process. Attendees interested in pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree received detailed information on admission requirements, interview processes, academic success criteria, and thesis writing procedures. Furthermore, discussions covered post-graduation academic career paths and the opportunities provided by the university’s graduate programs.

At the end of the event, the Faculty of Health Sciences administration emphasized the importance of such seminars in helping students plan their academic careers. They reaffirmed that Istanbul Gelisim University would continue to support students on their academic journeys and announced that similar events would be organized in the future. Students who participated in the seminar expressed that they felt more informed and motivated about their academic career planning.
