The "Graduate Career: First Step to Master’s and PhD" seminar, organized by the Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Health Sciences Career Planning and Alumni Communication Commission, was held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the K Block Firnas Auditorium. The event attracted great interest from the Faculty of Health Sciences Dean, Vice Dean, faculty members, and students.
The seminar featured Prof. İzzet Gümüş, Director of IGU Institude of Graduate Studies as the keynote speaker. Prof. Gümüş provided in-depth information on graduate education processes, emphasizing the role of master’s and doctoral programs in academic careers and professional development. He shared key points for a successful academic journey, covering topics such as the graduate application process, thesis and project writing techniques, opportunities for participation in academic research, and national and international scholarship options.
Additionally, the seminar addressed crucial details such as how to initiate scientific research, the academic publishing process, and important considerations when selecting a thesis advisor. Prof. Gümüş offered practical advice to guide students in their academic careers, highlighting the benefits of pursuing graduate studies, particularly in the field of health sciences.
