 IGU Rewarded Academic Achievement: Academic Performance Awards Found Their Recipients
Istanbul Gelisim University hosted this year’s traditional Academic Performance Award Ceremony with great participation, aiming to encourage academic productivity, make qualified work visible, and strengthen the culture of institutional success. During the ceremony, certificates of achievement were presented to faculty members who stood out with their academic contributions throughout 2024.

Comprehensive Academic Evaluation with APSIS

The Academic Performance Evaluation Process Management System (APSIS), developed in-house by IGU, was implemented in a much more comprehensive manner this year.

While the analysis process was carried out with 568 evaluation items in 2023, it was deepened in 2024 with a total of 2,440 evaluation items in 136 sub-activity areas. This increase in scope allowed academic activities to be monitored in more detail, both quantitatively and qualitatively.

Performance Evaluation in Six Categories

The academic performance evaluation process was conducted under six main categories:

• General Ranking

• Publications and Citations

• Projects, Patents, and Designs

• Awards, Memberships, and Recognition

• Scientific and Professional Activities

• Educational Activities

 

While each category was analyzed separately, the top 20 academics in the general ranking were honored with the “Encouragement Award.”

Faculty Members of the Faculty of Health Sciences Received Their Awards

Faculty members of the Faculty of Health Sciences who ranked in the general ranking—Asst. Prof. Ashifa KARIVELIPARAMBIL MOHAMMED ASHRAF, Assoc. Prof. Hatice Merve BAYRAM, Asst. Prof. Aslı KAYA, Asst. Prof. Nurten ELKIN, Asst. Prof. İsmail A. M. ELHATY, Prof. Seyfettin Arda ÖZTÜRKCAN, Asst. Prof. Mehmet KARTAL, Assoc. Prof. Neşe KISKAÇ, Asst. Prof. Mahruk RASHIDI, Asst. Prof. Hande Nur Onur ÖZTÜRK, and Asst. Prof. Turgay KARALİNÇ—were presented with Certificates of Achievement.

Among the academics who ranked in the top 20, Assoc. Prof. Hatice Merve BAYRAM, Asst. Prof. Nurten ELKIN, and Asst. Prof. Ashifa KARIVELIPARAMBIL MOHAMMED ASHRAF were given the Encouragement Award as an indicator of their success.

In addition to the Certificates of Achievement awarded in the general ranking, faculty members from the Faculty of Health Sciences received additional certificates: Asst. Prof. Ashifa KARIVELIPARAMBIL MOHAMMED ASHRAF in the category of Publications and Citations; Assoc. Prof. Hatice Merve BAYRAM in the category of Awards, Memberships, and Recognition; Asst. Prof. Nurten ELKIN in the categories of Awards, Memberships, and Recognition as well as Educational Activities.

The faculty members of the Faculty of Health Sciences made significant contributions to Istanbul Gelisim University’s vision of becoming a Research University.
