In this study, sample 1500 kcal menus generated by popular artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT-4, ChatGPT-4o, Claude, and Mistral for the five most searched diets on Google Trends (Ketogenic, Paleo, Mediterranean, Intermittent Fasting, and Raw Food) were analyzed. The results revealed up to 67% differences in energy values (1055–2273 kcal), a variation of 65 grams in protein content, and deficiencies in critical micronutrients such as calcium and iron in some menus.
The findings highlight that while AI-based diet recommendations can be inspirational, they are not reliable on their own. Professional expertise is essential to ensure healthy and balanced nutrition.
