One of the presented papers was prepared by English Program students Merve Almohamad and Sinem Yılmaz, under the supervision of Lecturer Münevver Başak Onat.
The study, titled “Expectations Regarding Weight Management and the Use of Tobacco and E-Cigarettes in Young Adults,” explored the perceived relationship between weight control behaviors and the use of tobacco products and electronic cigarettes among youth.
The presentation emphasized that some individuals view these products as appetite suppressants or tools for weight loss, and that such perceptions may influence behavior patterns formed during adolescence. It was also noted that addressing these tendencies during nutrition counseling could strengthen personalized intervention strategies.
The paper was developed from the students’ respective graduation projects: “Individuals’ Perceptions Regarding the Relationship Between Weight Management and The Use of E-cigarettes” and “Perceptions Regarding The Relationship Between Weight Management And The Use Of Tobacco.”
We sincerely congratulate our students and their advisor for their meaningful contribution and wish them continued success in their academic journey.
