The event started with the opening speech of Nursing Club social media representative Beste Caylak. Caylak stated that she was asked a lot of questions about the event and she also stated that very guiding information will be shared for nursing students. Caylak, asked the questions which are sent by the nursing students to Asst. Prof. Dr. Funda Karaman and Asst. Prof. Dr. Aslı Genc, and both shared their experiences in this direction with the students.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Funda Karaman shared her transition process to the nursing profession and she emphasized the importance of fulfilling the nursing profession willingly and fondly. Karaman shared that ethical values are very important in nursing and nursing practices should be done accordingly.
Karaman gave detailed information about the importance of foreign language in nursing and stated that it will be a great necessity with the developing health services in the coming years. She shared guiding information about working as a nurse in abroad and academic programs in abroad.
Sharing her experiences of transition from nursing to academician, Karaman mentioned the responsibilities, workload and similar - different aspects of being a nurse in the field and in the academy. Referring to the criteria that students should pay attention to when choosing a workplace after graduation and job application processes, Karaman shared her own experiences and gave advices.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Aslı Genc shared her experiences in nursing care and emphasized the importance of innovative and evidence-based nursing practices. Genc shared the importance of being aware of the duties, authorities and responsibilities of nurses and gave detailed information about the Nursing Regulation.
Referring to the importance of practical experience and working experience in nursing, Genc stated that nurses should have completed themselves theoretically. Genc gave advices for nursing students to improve themselves academically, and also gave information about MSc and PhD programs.
Genc gave information about the application processes for the students who want to work in the academy and the framework. Emphasizing the importance of spatialization in nursing, Genc advised students to turn to the areas that attract their attention, like and experience, both in the field and in the academy.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Funda Karaman and Asst. Prof. Dr. Aslı Genc mentioned the importance of nursing in the health sector and they shared their experiences and advices. The event ended with additional Q&A session of the students.
