The Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing, and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Departments Successfully Completed Accreditation Processes
The Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing, and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation departments of Istanbul Gelisim University’s Faculty of Health Sciences successfully completed their international accreditation processes, once again demonstrating the quality of their education. The departments were evaluated during accreditation visits conducted by AHPGS (Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Health and Social Sciences), based in Germany.
The visit, which began with a meeting attended by IGU Board of Trustees Chairman Abdülkadir Gayretli, Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Arda Öztürkcan, Quality Coordinator Prof. Dr. H. Hakan Bozkurt, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Rıfat Mutuş, Vice Deans Asst. Prof. A. Yüksel Barut and Asst. Prof. Neşe Kıskaç, continued with fruitful discussions between the Department Heads and academic staff regarding improvements in recent years and the educational processes. The departments shared their developments in educational activities and research, as well as the improvements made, with the AHPGS team and received constructive feedback.
During the visits, the educational facilities of the departments were also thoroughly examined. Physical resources such as laboratories, libraries, and classrooms were reviewed, and suggestions were made for strengthening the educational infrastructure. Additionally, a meeting with students was held to gather feedback on the educational process, student experiences, and improvements within the departments. These discussions provided important contributions to enhancing the quality of education from both the academic staff and student perspectives.
The successful completion of the accreditation processes has increased the international recognition of the Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing, and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation departments, contributing to the university's goals of internationalization. We thank all the faculty members and students who contributed to this process and wish them continued success.
