An event titled "International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women" was held on November 25, 2021, in cooperation with Faculty of Health Sciences of the Department of Social Work and Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences of Deparment of Psychology. Many lecturers, especially Social Work and Psychology students, participated in the online event.
Assist. Prof. Esra SAVAŞ addressed the topic of "Psychological Approaches in the Prevention of Violence Against Women" in the event, which aims to create a meaningful awareness in the field of violence against women and was moderated by Assist. Prof. Filiz Arzu Yalın. In her speech, Assist. Prof. Esra Savaş underlined the subjects of physical, psychological and sexual violence, the visibility of the phenomenon of violence, the factors that make up the violence, and the measures that can be taken in the fight against violence.
Prof. Dr. İsmet Galip YOLCUOĞLU discussed the topic "The Role of Social Work in Preventing Violence Against Women" and shared detailed information about the analysis of domestic violence cases, the types of families in which violence is experienced and the assigned roles, and the macro measures that can be taken in the effective fight against violence.
