The Great Offensive, launched on August 26, 1922 under the command of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, culminated in victory with the Battle of the Commander-in-Chief on August 30, 1922, declaring to the whole world the determination of our nation for independence and freedom.
This great victory, which laid the foundations of our Republic, was not only a military success but also a symbol of national resistance achieved through unity, solidarity, and determination.
As the Department of Social Work at Istanbul Gelisim University, on this meaningful day symbolizing the perseverance and unity of our nation, we commemorate with respect and mercy all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland, and we express our gratitude to our veterans.
