Definition: The globally accepted definition of the social work profession is: " Social work is a practice-based profession and an academic discipline that promotes social change and development, social cohesion, and the empowerment and liberation of people (IFSW, 2014).

Principles: The social work profession has been one of the leading occupations of concepts such as human rights, equality and freedom, from the emergence process to the day. In this sense, work discipline with a rights-based understanding aims to liberate people and develop on the axis of social change. For these purposes, it carries out micro, mezzo and macro works for individuals, groups and societies.
