 MUSCLE ARCHITECTURE




An online webinar was held on 09.12.2021 under the roof of Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Health Sciences Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Turkish and English Departments and Istanbul Gelisim University Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Student Club. Health Sciences University Gülhane Faculty of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Lecturer Çağlar SOYLU explained the subject of Muscle Architecture.

Physiotherapist Çağlar SOYLU explained his presentation under 5 main headings. These main topics were; Basic Concepts of Muscle Architecture, Architecture of Stretching, Architecture of NMES, Architectural Based Strengthening and Muscle-Tendon Transfers. Çağlar SOYLU stated that the most important parameters in muscle architecture are muscle type classification, fiber length, pennation angle, physiological cross-sectional area and sarcomere length. The differences between static stretching and dynamic stretching have enriched the presentation with the stretching type and exercise examples that should be selected according to the muscle type. He conveyed that while strengthening the muscle, attention should be paid to the architecture and that the strengthening program should be shaped according to the architecture of the muscle, and he prevented the question mark from remaining in mind with exercise examples.
