An event of "Sensory and Emotional Learning" was held on 8 December 2021 by the
Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Occupational Therapy. With OTR/L Muammer AYDOĞDU, who participated in the event as a speaker, shared general information about the sensory and emotional learning processes of the human brain with the students.
He discussed various theoretical knowledge and clinical observations about the unique role of the sensory system in brain development and the integration processes of the sensory system into daily life with our students. In addition, he talked about emotional processes in empathy, problem solving and decision making skills.
At the end of the presentation, the students discussed with Muammer AYDOĞDU about the current situation regarding the future of the occupational therapy profession in Turkey.
The event ended with Prof Dr Rıfat MUTUŞ, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, presenting his plaque to our guest and thanking him for his presentation and important information he shared.
