In the talk titled Occupational Therapy with Forensic Cases, dated 04.05.2021, 20.30, it was discussed how the forensic cases were examined in how many sections, how the patients were classified according to the levels, what the occupational therapists could do in this field.
Guest speaker Dr. Lecturer Mahmut Yaran shared his knowledge and experience on the subject with our students.
The questions such as how many models can be applied to the questions of the participants, that the patients evaluate their leisure activities by reading books, but this is to spend time rather than the activity, that even if the patient confesses his crime, it is not shared because there is no evidence, what kind of treatment process can be created according to the patient's wishes, considering the requests rather than the priority, The positive effects of group therapy, the frequency of re-imprisonment in treatments that yielded positive results, and the questions asked were answered.
A conversation was held on how many sections forensic cases are examined , how patients are classified according to levels (open prisons, closed prisons, psychiatric hospitals), what occupational therapists can do in this area, how occupational therapists should act in communication and style while communicating with patients.
