As the Department of Ergotherapy, we were at the 3rd Barrier-Free World Friendly Festival!

 

As the Occupational Therapy Department, we were at the 3rd Barrier-Free World Friendly Festival held at Bağcılar Municipality, Feyzullah Kıyıklık Palace for the Disabled! We witnessed dance performances and sports competitions in many fields by our friends with special needs who are studying at the Palace for the Disabled.

 

At Istanbul Gelisim University, Department of Occupational Therapy, we made a presentation with our laboratory equipment specific to our field, such as cognitive, hand rehabilitation, and motor planning. Occupational Therapy Department research assistants Beyza Aslı BİLSEL, Hülya YAMAN and our graduate student Gülsüm TOHAN offered our friends with special needs the opportunity to experience therapy materials.

 

We hosted many valuable guests at our stand, especially the Mayor of Bağcılar, Mr. Abdullah Özdemir, and the President of the Turkish Football Federation, Mehmet Büyükekşi. We talked about the importance of Occupational Therapy and its working areas to our protocol member guests.

 

A plaque of appreciation was presented to our research assistant Hülya YAMAN on behalf of Bağcılar Municipality, Feyzullah Kıyıklık Palace for the Disabled, and Istanbul Gelişim University.
