 A Presentation on "Multidisciplinary Approaches in Individuals with Special Needs" Held at Ereğli Gelişim Special Education and Rehabilitation Center


Ereğli Gelişim Special Education and Rehabilitation Center hosted Asst. Prof. Çağıl Ertürk, Head of the Department of Occupational Therapy. During his presentation titled "Multidisciplinary Approaches in Individuals with Special Needs," Dr. Ertürk emphasized the importance of collaboration between different disciplines in the education and rehabilitation processes of individuals with special needs.


Ereğli Gelişim Special Education and Rehabilitation Center hosted Asst. Prof. Çağıl Ertürk, Head of the Department of Occupational Therapy. During his presentation titled "Multidisciplinary Approaches in Individuals with Special Needs," Dr. Ertürk emphasized the importance of collaboration between different disciplines in the education and rehabilitation processes of individuals with special needs.

The presentation covered a variety of essential topics, including The Benefits of Physical Therapy for Individuals with Special Needs, Community Participation and Occupational Therapy, Community Participation and Occupational Therapy for Children, Adults, and Elderly Individuals with Disabilities, Occupational Therapy for Caregivers, Stress Management and Coping Strategies, and Ayres Sensory Integration Theory.

The event was organized at the invitation of one of Dr. Ertürk’s former students, who graduated from the Departments of Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. Ereğli Mayor Umut Akpınar and families benefiting from the services of the rehabilitation center also participated in the event. Mayor Akpınar highlighted the importance of such programs in raising public awareness and expressed the municipality’s continued support for the center's initiatives.

At the end of the presentation, participants had the opportunity to ask Dr. Ertürk individual questions, and the event concluded with expressions of gratitude.
