One of the greatest contributions of occupational therapy to the health system is the holistic consideration of the effects of health factors or disorders that affect the individual, as stated in the definition of health by the World Health Organization. Occupational therapists work with people living with physical, sensory, and/or cognitive disabilities to manage daily functions, achieve independence and improve their quality of life. They evaluate activities that are important to the person and guide them every step of the way.
