Sustainable Life and Nutrition Club
The Sustainable Life and Nutrition Club was established in 2024 by the students of Istanbul Gelisim University, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, under the advisory of Asst. Prof. Gizem UZLU and has officially started its activities. Our club has been officially approved within the framework of IGU's "Student Clubs Directive."
The main objective of the club is to raise awareness about sustainability and to encourage individuals to develop healthy eating habits and a sense of environmental responsibility. Our club aims to inspire both personal health and the future of our planet by supporting academic and professional development, promoting conscious consumption habits, and organizing training sessions focused on the efficient use of resources and waste reduction. Additionally, strengthening solidarity among students and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration are among our core objectives. In this regard, the Sustainable Life and Nutrition Club collaborates with the Scientific Research Projects Club and the IGU Nutrition and Dietetics Club (İGÜBES). Furthermore, the club works in close cooperation with the Life Sciences and Biomedical Engineering Application and Research Center, which is affiliated with our university.
Our club participated in the Club Promotion Days for the first time on December 17-18, 2024, reaching a broader audience. In the short term, the club plans to organize scientific training programs, social responsibility projects, and cultural events. In the long term, our goals include participating in national and international conferences, developing healthy living projects, and conducting activities to increase public awareness of sustainability.
The club is open to everyone who shares its mission and ethical values. To become a member, you can apply to our club through the OBIS.
We would be delighted to have you join us in making the future healthier and more sustainable!
