Dear Students, Esteemed Colleagues, and Fellow Professionals,
Happy World Physical Therapy Day, September 8. We extend our gratitude to all physiotherapists who add value to people’s health, freedom of movement, and quality of life. Thank you for your effort, patience, and dedication. We are glad you are here.
Physiotherapists play a vital role in reducing the suffering and deaths caused by diseases and in developing global health strategies. Each year, physiotherapists help millions of patients around the world improve their health conditions and reduce risk factors such as obesity. They also continue to apply their skills to address diseases, accidents, and the effects of stress, which concern almost every field of medicine.
Physiotherapists are specialized in promoting human health, physical well-being, and determining levels of physical activity. They identify the physical barriers, limitations, and deficiencies that prevent individuals from leading active and independent lives, and they enable people to overcome these challenges. They enhance movement potential. At the same time, they are productive individuals who contribute to the national economy.
Members of this profession provide their services based on sound clinical reasoning and scientific evidence, grounded in respect for and trust in human dignity. These are the messages that physiotherapists wish to convey to the world every day, but especially on September 8, World Physical Therapy Day.
I sincerely congratulate all our physiotherapist colleagues in Turkey and around the world on World Physical Therapy Day, and I extend my love and respect to you all.
