 IGU Academics Will Represent Turkey at the UN Global Goals Youth Forum 2026

Academics from Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) are preparing to take part in an international platform within the scope of the “Youth Forum on UN Global Goals (YFGG) 2026,” organized in line with the United Nations Global Goals. The forum, which will be held in Istanbul between April 27–30, 2026, will include IGU academics serving as delegates. The Istanbul Gelisim University delegation consists of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Arda Öztürkcan, Associate Professor Dr. Merve Bayram, Associate Professor Dr. Başak Özarslan, Assistant Professor Dr. Özlem Tuğçe Keleş, Assistant Professor Dr. Enes Kalyoncu, and Research Assistant Kübra Aldırmaz. The academics will contribute to initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Efforts Will Be Conducted for the Istanbul Youth Declaration

The event, organized under the theme “Toward COP-31: Innovation for a Greener World,” will address topics such as youth diplomacy, sustainability, environmental policies, and innovative solutions. IGU academics will take an active role in the sessions to be carried out within these themes. The forum, which lays the groundwork for shaping youth-oriented global policies, aims to provide a guiding framework on a global scale, particularly in the field of climate policies.

Expected to Contribute to International Collaborations

The organization, which contributes to the development of academic collaborations at the international level, will bring together participants from different countries, enabling the exchange of knowledge and experience. The presence of Istanbul Gelisim University academics at the forum is also expected to support the university’s sustainability and global impact-oriented initiatives.
