 Prof. Mehmet Akif KILIÇ Conducted the Specialized Praat Speech and Voice Analysis Training


The Specialized Praat Speech and Voice Analysis Training organized by Prof. Mehmet Akif KILIÇ was conducted with the participation of faculty members and students from the Department of Speech and Language Therapy at Istanbul Gelisim University. The training covered topics such as the role of Praat software in voice analysis, the use of spectrograms, and the assessment of speech disorders. In addition to theoretical knowledge, students had the opportunity to experience the voice analysis processes through practical exercises.


Prof. Mehmet Akif KILIÇ, who serves in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the University of Health Sciences, has extensive expertise in voice disorders, speech disorders, and acoustic voice analysis. Known for his scientific research and years of clinical experience, Prof. KILIÇ not only participates in academic training but also contributes significantly to his field by delivering speeches at national and international conferences and seminars. He plays a crucial role in transferring his vast knowledge to participants at all levels of expertise.

Praat software, widely used in the field of speech and language disorders, is highly significant due to its precision in voice analysis and its ability to provide detailed data. This software facilitates in-depth examination of voice frequencies, intonation, articulation disorders, and other speech parameters. In the training conducted under the leadership of Prof. Mehmet Akif KILIÇ, students were introduced not only to theoretical knowledge but also to practical applications, including voice analysis techniques, the interpretation of acoustic parameters, and applied data analysis.

During the training, students were exposed to innovative approaches in speech and voice analysis while also gaining hands-on experience with advanced techniques and analytical tools. As a result, they developed new perspectives on diagnosing voice disorders and treatment methods. Throughout the training, Prof. KILIÇ guided participants in exploring different viewpoints on voice analysis and provided insights on how to enhance both scientific research and clinical applications.
