High Interest in the Speech and Language Therapy Department

Among the departments at Istanbul Gelisim University, the Speech and Language Therapy program has attracted significant attention during the Preference and Introduction Days. This discipline, situated at the intersection of healthcare and education, has gained importance in recent years due to both societal needs and employment opportunities.

According to the Higher Education Employment Indicators report published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Speech and Language Therapy had the shortest average time to employment after graduation among 2024 undergraduate graduates, with an average of 2.2 months. This was followed by Medicine (4.1 months), Special Education Teaching (4.3 months), Pharmacy (5.1 months), and Midwifery (7.6 months).

The rapid employment rate makes the Speech and Language Therapy program an important consideration for prospective students. With growing demand in both the public and private sectors, graduates from this field are able to enter the workforce quickly, further boosting the program’s popularity. During the introduction days, candidates have the opportunity to closely explore academic content and receive direct information about career paths from alumni.

As the Speech and Language Therapy Department, we warmly welcome prospective students to our campus to address all their questions about the profession.
