 Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Students at Istanbul Gelisim University Wore Their White Coats


Istanbul Gelisim University's Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation honored its students with a symbolic ceremony marking their transition into professional life. The White Coat Ceremony, held on May 12, 2025, at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Conference Hall in Block J, was conducted in an atmosphere filled with pride and enthusiasm.

The event was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Nuri KURUOĞLU, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Rıfat MUTUŞ, Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Neşe KISKAÇ, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Asst. Prof. Dr. Gülşah KONAKOĞLU, and esteemed faculty members. During the ceremony, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students from both Turkish and English programs wore their white coats, marking an important milestone on their professional journey.

Head of Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Gülşah Konakoğlu and Dean Prof. Dr. Rıfat Mutuş delivered speeches emphasizing the significance of the physiotherapy profession and the values represented by the white coat. Their remarks highlighted key themes such as commitment to ethical principles, the duty to serve human health, and professional integrity.

Students received their coats from faculty members

Following the speeches, faculty members took the stage to assist students in donning their white coats. Students were invited to the stage in groups based on their class year and proudly received their coats from their professors. The moment was immortalized with group photos and video recordings.

Celebration concluded with music and joy

After the official part of the ceremony, students and academic staff enjoyed a music-filled celebration, creating unforgettable memories. With this meaningful event, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation students took a significant step forward in their professional lives.
