The study investigated the effects of inspiratory muscle training, applied in addition to a standard neurological rehabilitation program, on diaphragm function and activity performance in individuals with subacute ischemic stroke.
The results demonstrated that the group receiving inspiratory muscle training showed significant improvements in diaphragm function and respiratory muscle strength. These findings provide scientific evidence supporting the importance of strengthening respiratory muscles in post-stroke rehabilitation processes.
The fact that the study was conducted in collaboration with a doctoral student represents an important indicator of how postgraduate education can be transformed into high-quality scientific publications. This research, carried out under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Zuhal Kunduracılar, further strengthens our department’s research-oriented educational approach and enhances its international academic visibility.
We sincerely congratulate Prof. Dr. Zuhal Kunduracılar and her PhD student and wish them continued success in their academic endeavors.
