The congress was held on May 25–26 at 10:00 AM, hosted by Üsküdar University. Aiming to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and scientific advancement, the event highlighted Dr. Bilsel’s presentation as a contemporary approach emphasizing the deeper integration of occupational therapy with neuroscientific foundations.
In her presentation, Dr. Bilsel explained how metacognitive experiments—designed to enhance individuals’ daily life performance—are structured and implemented based on neurocognitive network models. She shared evidence-based strategies that occupational therapists can use to functionally support higher-order cognitive functions such as attention, memory, and planning.
Closely followed by participants, the presentation contributed to the ongoing search for new paradigms in occupational therapy and offered compelling examples of how neuroscience meets practical applications.
Such scientific events, which add vision to occupational therapy education, practice, and research, are expected to strengthen interdisciplinary solidarity and lay the groundwork for innovative practices.
