1. Occupational therapy and physiotherapy academic farewell day
An Academic Farewell Day was organized for senior students on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, by Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
An Academic Farewell Day was organized for senior students on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, by Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. The program was followed by a moment of silence, the National Anthem, and the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Rıfat MUTUŞ's opening speech started. Guest speaker Occupational Therapist Emre SAVAŞ gave his speech on "The Effects of Sensory Integration Therapy on Brain Development". He answered the questions of faculty members and students. Prof. Dr. Rıfat MUTUŞ presented his plaque on behalf of our university with his thanks.
The presentation and exhibition of the posters prepared by the final year Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy students in the foyer area took place. Posters were presented to the evaluation of the jury with the explanations of the students. Among the posters exhibited, it was presented to the appreciation and evaluation of the participants by Büşra KÜKA and Dilek CAN, students of the Department of Occupational Therapy, under the supervision of Lecturer Mustafa Ferit AKKURT. The second guest speaker is MSc. Physiotherapist Ezgi ÖVÜNÇ GÜÇLÜER made an enlightening presentation on “Lymphedema Treatment and Therapy Processes”. Shee answered the questions of faculty members and students. The speaker also informed our students with the identity of the Physiotherapy Association Representative. Then Vice Dean Assist. Prof. Member Abdullah Yüksel BARUT presented her plaque on behalf of our university with his thanks.
.The last guest speaker was Occupational Therapist Bilge KAVALCI gave her speech on “Occupational Therapy and Nutritional Problems”. The speaker also informed our students with the identity of the Occupational Therapy Association Representative. Then, Head of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department Prof. Dr. Arif ÖNDER presented her plaque on behalf of our university with his thanks. A surprise was prepared for our students with the video shows of the students of the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Department. Afterwards, the poster award ceremony was held. Among the posters exhibited, Lect. The poster of Dilek CAN, a student of the Department of Occupational Therapy, under the supervision of Lecturer Mustafa Ferit AKKURT, was awarded the first prize by the jury.
As the 4th grade students of the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Department, the "Gonyometer Handover" ceremony was held for the 3rd grade students. Then, our 4th grade students were invited to the stage and the gifts prepared by the 3rd grade students were presented. Finally, Vice Dean Assist. Prof. Abdullah Yüksel BARUT gave a farewell speech to all our students, especially their senior year, with advice that will shed light on their professional lives. Afterwards, the event ended with a photo shoot that took place when all the lecturers and students were invited to the stage.
