Turkish Red Crescent continues to collaborate with various universities to strengthen healthcare services and provide more effective services to the community. In this context, students from Istanbul Gelisim University’s Nursing Department have also gained valuable experience by working within Turkish Red Crescent. These future healthcare professionals have been working with Turkish Red Crescent to enhance their professional skills and contribute to public health.
Istanbul Gelisim University Nursing Department students participated in the program organized by Turkish Red Crescent on May 8-9 at G Block-MYO from 11:00 to 19:00, on May 14-15-16 at J Block-Tower from 10:30 to 18:30, and on May 15-16 at B Block-Faculty of Health Sciences from 11:00 to 19:00. This program allowed students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice while gaining experience in various areas of healthcare services. Students contributed to community service by participating in blood donation campaigns.
Cansu MERMİT, a first-year student at Istanbul Gelisim University Department of Nursing, expressed how valuable it was for her to work at Turkish Red Crescent: “Volunteering at Kızılay has helped me develop my professional knowledge and skills, and it has been a great source of motivation to benefit the community.”
Assist. Prof. Mahruk RASHIDI, Head of the Nursing Department, emphasized the importance of nursing students' roles at Turkish Red Crescent, stating, "The work of our young nursing candidates at Turkish Red Crescent not only contributes to their professional development but also improves the quality of healthcare services provided to the community.
