 Achievement Certificate from the International Centre for Migration Policy Development to IGU


Istanbul Gelisim University ( IGU) added a new one to its national and international collaborations. The “My Business Partner” project within IGU has been certified by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).


With the “My Business Partner” project, Istanbul Gelisim University adds a new one to the project collaborations built with national and international networks. With the project certified by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), studies on migration management will be carried out by enabling the development of innovative, inclusive and sustainable migration policies and capacity building of institutions.

ENHANCER PROJECT CERTIFICATES MEET WITH THEIR OWNERS!

Adding a new one to the project collaborations built with national and international networks, Istanbul Gelisim University participated in the ENHANCER Project Successful Projects Announcement Certificate Ceremony on October 26, 2022 by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa VARANK, EU Commission Neighborhood and Enlargement Commissioner Oliver VARHELYI, EU Ambassador Nikolaus MEYER LANDRUT and ICMPD Migration Dialogue and Cooperation Director Martin PLUIM attended the ceremony where the project owners who were deemed worthy of grant presented their certificates. The "My Business Partner" project success certificate within Istanbul Gelisim University was presented to Erasmus Coordinator Alisa USUBOVA, representing our university, by the EU Ambassador and ICMPD Migration Dialogue and Cooperation Director.

ICMPD AND THE PROJECT: MOTIVATION IN THE APPLICATION PROCESS

ICMPD, which has 19 members including Turkey, carries out studies on the development of innovative, inclusive and sustainable migration policies, enabling the capacity building of institutions and migration management. Sustainable jobs and livelihoods for Syrian citizens and local host communities within the scope of "Enhancing Entrepreneurial Capacities for Sustainable Socio-Economic Adjustment (Enhancer/FRIT)" project of ICMPD, also carries out 6 projects including SUPREME, PACT, TACSO, SHIFT, SUMMIT, FRIT.  In line with the aforementioned purposes, the project proposal named “My Business Partner” made by the Erasmus Coordinatorship of Istanbul Gelisim University was deemed worthy of a grant.

The project, which was designed in cooperation with the University-NGO, consists of a series of activities to eliminate the deficiencies (legislation-based, education-based, network problem, etc.) identified as a result of the studies on the obstacles in front of the initiatives of Syrian citizens. It is aimed to change the negative perception towards Syrian citizens in society and to strengthen the awareness of volunteering among the youth, thanks to the activities to be carried out in the project for university youth and Syrian entrepreneur candidates to work together in harmony. In this way, it will be possible to establish harmony in each element of society as a whole. The project, which will be implemented in a 12-month period, is planned to be implemented as soon as possible in order to achieve the stated objectives quickly after the signing of the contract.
