The event was moderated by Dr. Lecturer Merve DALMAZ, and attended by Dr. Lecturer Havva SAGLAM, Vice Chair of the Department of Child Development, and Research Assistant Aise Büşra CIGER. The program offered an interdisciplinary perspective on understanding children’s emotional worlds.
Dr. Psychologist Semih TEZELLI addressed how children’s inner worlds and emotional experiences can be interpreted through the analysis of children’s drawings. Psychological Counselor Hilal ILERI ERTURK focused on the developmental importance of emotional awareness in children, sharing insights on recognizing, labeling, and expressing emotions in healthy ways. Educator and Psychology Science Specialist Kenan AZKESKIN presented examples illustrating how fairy tale therapy can serve as an effective tool in helping children make sense of their experiences and express their emotional processes.
The event provided both theoretical knowledge and practical insights for students interested in or working with children, contributing to increased awareness of understanding children’s emotional worlds.
The workshop concluded with a question-and-answer session. Participation certificates were awarded to the students and academics who attended the workshop.
