As part of the event, graduates and senior students shared their own experiences, emphasizing the importance of academic development, double major programs, socio-cultural activities, and participation in student clubs.
The significance of international exchange programs such as Erasmus+ for students’ personal and academic development was also highlighted. In addition, Mahmut YAMAN, a student of the English Program in the Department of Child Development who had participated in the Erasmus+ exchange program, shared his experiences abroad, illustrating with examples how international education opportunities contribute to both personal and academic growth. Students had the chance to hear how getting to know different cultures and gaining international experiences can broaden their professional perspectives.
Head of the Child Development Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nurten ELKİN, along with Vice Head of Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Havva SAĞLAM, Research Assistants Kevser Tuğba ÇINAR KARASU, Hatice Zelal BİNGÖL, and Rabia Ceren ATEŞ, provided information about the department and answered students’ questions regarding the new academic year. This orientation served as an important starting point for Child Development students to adapt quickly to university life, meet the department’s academic staff, and explore the social, cultural, and academic opportunities offered by Istanbul Gelisim University.
