As the 2025–2026 academic year approaches, universities are once again opening their doors to thousands of new students. Some are leaving their families for the first time, while others are stepping into a new future in the department they have long dreamed of. However, alongside the excitement of this transition, uncertainties can also create pressure for students.
Experts and those with prior university experience share a common view: “University is not only a period of academic achievement but also a time for personal development, socialization, and discovering life itself.” A new environment, a new city, and new people... Being open to social settings, not hesitating to communicate, and taking small steps toward building connections can ease this transition.
Throughout university life, comparing oneself to others can lead to a loss of motivation. Every student’s journey is unique—some may progress quickly, while others advance with slower but more deliberate steps. What matters most is experiencing this process in one’s own way.
