Humeyra OZSOY, who works at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital, addressed Child Development students and discussed appropriate approaches to children staying in inpatient services and children with chronic illnesses. She explained the role and areas of expertise of the child development specialist in clinical practices. Emphasizing that
“We are not test administrators; we are health professionals who provide developmental guidance,” OZSOY highlighted the importance of students taking their fieldwork practices seriously and outlined the types of studies required to become active child development specialists in the field. Providing therapeutic interventions through a multidisciplinary approach, OZSOY underscored the necessity of adopting a developmental perspective in every environment where the child is present.
The event was attended by Vice Head of the Department of Child Development Dr. Lecturer Havva SAGLAM, Dr. Lecturer Merve DALMAZ, and Research Assistant Aise Büşra CIGER. The seminar was moderated by Research Assistant Rabia Ceren CAVGA. At the end of the event, a question-and-answer session was held, followed by a plaque presentation.
