 "Artificial Intelligence and Entrepreneurship in Audiology" with AIHear Team


Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Health Sciences Audiology Club organized an event called "Artificial Intelligence and Entrepreneurship in Audiology" with AIHear Team. The event was held online on March 21, 2021, between 20.00 - 21.00, via Google Meet.


 
Sebahattin Ünlü, Emre Bayram, Ersin Onur Erdogan, Ismet Poyraz and Nihat Cengiz Pamuk participated as speakers.

After the AIHear Team members introduced themselves briefly, their presentations focused on information on entrepreneurship, their Autonomous Audiometer Project and artificial intelligence in the future of Audiology.
 
Sebahattin Ünlü said that entrepreneurship is the most important solution to reduce unemployment, that the idea of entrepreneurship should be commercialized and resources should not be limited in order to be sustainable. In addition, he gave brief information about the institutions that provide pre-incubation support.

In response to the question asked by our student, he stated that it would be very appropriate to experiment with projects during his student years. He said that they started working on the Autonomous Audiometer Project in October 2018 while still a student in the Department of Audiology.

He talked about the innovative aspects of the Autonomous Odiometer. It was pointed out that project is to raise the operating standards of the personnel and business ensure the welfare, to save time and to create a Big Data in Turkey.
 

They started their project work in October 2018, were accepted to the ITU Çekirdek Pre-Incubation Program and received training, mentor and open office support, received training and mentoring support from TUBITAK BIGG Phase 1 for the 2019 period, they were accepted to the 1st Phase of the BIGG program for 2020, and then 3,289 He stated that they won the support of BIGG by entering 144 from the project and passing the finals and that their company was established in September 2020.

Regarding artificial intelligence in the future of Audiology, these points were pointed out with the explanations "Routine works based on certain rules chain will be performed autonomously, numbers based on data will be interpreted autonomously, visual analysis will be done autonomously with image processing technologies (for example, autoscopic examination)".

It was pointed out that following and adapting to technology is very important for audiologists. Our students were advised to follow up-to-date studies in their field.
 
An efficient meeting was held for our students, who found answers to many questions about the software.
 
At the end of this event organized by the Audiology Club, our Head of Department, Department Professors, Department Research Assistants and our students thanked our speakers Sebahattin Ünlü, Emre Bayram, Ersin Onur Erdogan, Ismet Poyraz and Nihat Cengiz Pamuk.
Thus, our event, which was productive by all our faculty members and students, came to an end.
