Message of the Head of Department


Dear students and prospective students,
 
Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Audiology continues to work without slowing down with the energy it receives from its students and its competent academic staff, high-level application laboratory, and research facilities.
 
The Department of Audiology, which is an important field in the health sector, is referred to as the science of hearing. The science of audiology, which deals with hearing and balance functions, detects hearing and balance disorders of individuals, plans and performs the management and rehabilitation of these disorders with hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other assistive devices, and conducts studies and research on the field of hearing and balance, aims to train qualified audiologists who can work in this field. Our graduates, who receive the title of audiologist after their audiology education, find themselves a place in many areas of public and private institutions.
 
The science of audiology is in mutual relationship and interaction with many disciplines, and this is reflected in the content of the education. Audiology, which covers many sciences from medicine to psychology, from education to sociology, is added to the educational content of our university as a theoretical and applied department. In this direction, our current audiology education enables the training of audiologists who adopt the protection of hearing health as the first goal, take an active part in the diagnosis, rehabilitation, and follow-up of hearing diseases, and contribute to the improvement of the quality of life by removing obstacles. The Audiology Department training program has been accredited by AHPGS (Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences), an international accreditation organization that is a member of the European Quality Assurance Association.

There is a wide area of ​​work for our graduates who are committed to ethical values, open to development, and solution-oriented, and who take work as a principle. In our country, audiologists who are graduates of the Audiology Undergraduate Department have career opportunities in the academic field as well as clinical work. As a healthcare professional, it will be our greatest wish to educate audiologists who care about the sense of peace and professional satisfaction that will bring clinical and scientific contributions to human health.
