History

"Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Health Sciences" started education as "Istanbul Gelisim University School of Health Sciences" in 2012-2013 with the decision of the Council of Ministers published in the Official Gazette No. 28407 dated 10.09.2012, dated 08.08.2012 and numbered 2012/3620.

 

In the 2012-2013 academic year, students were enrolled in the departments of "Nursing, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nutrition and Dietetics, Child Development, Social Work".

 

In the 2013-2014 academic year, with the addition of the "Audiology" Department, six departments were formed in our school.

 

In the 2014-2015 academic year, with the addition of "Health Management and Health Institutions Management *" Departments, a total of eight departments were formed in our school (In 2015, these two departments were combined under the name of Health Management with the decision of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK)).

 

In addition; With the addition of "Nursing, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nutrition and Dietetics, Child Development, Social Work English" Departments, which were our first departments in the 2014-2015 academic year, our faculty had a total of twelve departments.

 

In the 2015-2016 academic year, the "Occupational Therapy" department was added, and our faculty had a total of thirteen departments.

 

In the 2017-2018 academic year, with the addition of "Orthotics, Prosthetics and Perfusion" Departments, there were fifteen departments in our faculty.

 

In the 2018-2019 academic year, with the addition of "Language and Speech Therapy and Gerontology" Departments, there were seventeen departments in our faculty.

 

13 departments were fully accredited by the Accreditation Agency of AHPGS (Accreditation Agency in the Area of ​​Health and Social Sciences) on 15.02.2018. You can access related Accreditation information on AHPGS Web Page.

 

Our Faculty, which took its first step in the 2012-2013 academic year with 190 students, continues with 3235 students in the 2019-2020 Fall semester and 3274 students in the 2020-2021 Fall semester.

 

"School of Health Sciences" was transformed into a "Faculty of Health Sciences" with the President's Decree No. 3203, published in the Official Gazette No. 31315 dated 25.11.2020.
