The Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department held a Summer Internship Orientation Meeting for second- and third-year students. The meeting aimed to help students plan their summer internship process accurately and completely, provide information about internship procedures, and clarify possible questions regarding the process.
Within the scope of the orientation, students were informed about the aim, scope, and learning outcomes of the summer internship. In addition, the internship application process, preparation and submission of the required documents, internship calendar, attendance requirements, institutional rules, ethical and professional principles to be followed during the internship, and assessment criteria were explained in detail.
Students were informed about internship applications, preparation of required documents, submission procedures, and the documents to be completed at the end of the internship.
Key points regarding the preparation and completion of the internship logbook, daily records, reporting of practices, and approval procedures were explained through examples.
Professional conduct in clinical settings, patient safety, internal communication within institutions, and student responsibilities were addressed.
The basic criteria for internship assessment, attendance requirements, and the professional attitudes expected from students were explained.
At the end of the meeting, students’ questions were answered, and topics related to the internship process were clarified. In this way, the meeting contributed to students beginning their internship practices in a more informed and prepared manner.
Through the orientation meeting, it is aimed that our students make a conscious start to their professional practice process and successfully complete their summer internships. We wish all our students a productive, successful, and experience-enhancing internship period.
