New Horizons in Stroke Treatment: Scientific Insights from the iCure Stroke Congress

The Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation participated in the international iCure Stroke Congress, where neuroradiological approaches in the field of stroke were discussed. The Department was represented by Prof. Dr. Zuhal Kunduracılar, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hüsniye Merve Demirer, Assist. Prof. Dr. Tansu Kuş, Lect. Caner Özbek, and Res. Asst. İremnur Günhan.

During the congress, particular emphasis was placed on the role of neuroradiological interventions in acute stroke management, mechanical thrombectomy, and endovascular treatment approaches within the scope of scientific sessions. With contributions from internationally recognized experts in the field, the importance of early intervention, the decisive role of advanced imaging techniques in clinical decision-making processes, and their effects on patient outcomes were discussed in detail.

As part of the congress program, neuroradiological interventions were observed in real time through live case demonstrations, allowing the transfer of theoretical knowledge into clinical practice to be illustrated through concrete examples. The live case presentations enabled participants to follow all stages of the treatment process simultaneously and provided an advanced environment for observation and learning.

The scientific sessions once again highlighted the critical impact of neuroradiological interventions on patient prognosis and their relationship with rehabilitation planning. In particular, the decisive role of appropriate and timely interventions during the acute phase in determining the effectiveness of the subsequent rehabilitation process was emphasized.
