Students from the Departments of Nursing and Nutrition and Dietetics attended the screening. The participating students made valuable contributions during the discussion following the documentary. The event was moderated by faculty members of the Istanbul Gelişim University Faculty of Health Sciences, Assist. Prof. Eda Merve Kurtuluş from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and Assist. Prof. Deniz Kaya Meral from the Department of Nursing. The moderators emphasized the importance of the documentary's content in terms of sustainability and healthy living, and encouraged active student participation.
During the evaluation session held after the screening, students highlighted the individual and public health impacts of salt consumption. Nursing students particularly emphasized the relationship between excessive salt intake and health issues such as hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, and other medical conditions. On the other hand, students from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics provided analyses on how conscious and balanced nutrition aligns with the concept of sustainable health.
Through this event, students not only gained academic insights but also developed healthy eating habits in their daily lives and raised awareness on public health issues. The event significantly contributed to increasing awareness in the areas of sustainable living, public health, and nutrition, serving as a strong example of the university’s efforts in education and awareness-raising in these fields.
