Message from the Chair
Dear students and prospective students,
The growing health needs of individuals and communities and the rapidly developing technology, have obliged both the state and the private sector to provide more services in the field of public health and employ more health personnel. As such, the health sector has grown steadily and has become an indispensable part of the economic system. In this direction, when we look at the historical statistics of the health sector in Turkey, we see that it has grown approximately 3-fold since 1980 in 20 years. While the highest share of this growth rate is in the public sector, the private sector has contributed to this by increasing its share day by day. In parallel with the growth, the lack of health personnel also revealed the importance of health education institutions.
The Nursing Department of Istanbul Gelisim University has been steadily implementing educational activities since the first day it was founded, to train the personnel needed by the healthcare sector through the mission of change and development in education. As a Nursing Department, we serve community health by providing nurses who are active in patient improvement and service development processes and who are responsible for many areas from care services, counseling, and health processes to participation in treatment processes.
Our aim as the Nursing Department is; to prepare firmly the nurse candidates who will work for individual and community health, by gaining knowledge and skills in fields such as anatomy, psychology, nutrition, basic principles and applications in nursing, history of nursing, internal medicine nursing, pathology, emergency nursing and professional English in the light of Atatürk's principles and revolutions. Our students who are prepared for their professional lives with solid nursing department training, are also prepared for their private lives thanks to the understanding of our school education. In this respect, the Nursing Department educates modern and qualified individuals who are responsible for national and international studies which are sensitive to individual / community health at the national and international level, who see problems and produce fast solutions, do not leave ethical principles, can make right decisions and take responsibility in critical situations, sensitive to the environment, protects human dignity and privacy.
We are very happy to see new candidates among us at our school where we are consciously involved to contribute to society. I wish you all the years of convenience and success with your work.
