Gökçe Nur ÇOKÇEVİK, a Child Development Specialist at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, delivered a seminar titled “Baby and Children’s Library Practices” for students of the Child Development Department at Istanbul Gelişim University.
Explaining the role and fields of practice of Child Development Specialists within the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, ÇOKÇEVİK presented examples of child-centered libraries located in various districts of Istanbul. She provided explanations regarding materials and architectural arrangements in libraries that may pose risks to children. Emphasizing the need to design content appropriate for children’s developmental levels and the importance of learning materials, ÇOKÇEVİK also offered several architectural recommendations for libraries. The seminar was moderated by Research Assistants Kevser Tuğba ÇINAR KARASU and Aişe Büşra CİĞER.
