White Coat Ceremony Held on March 6th, European Day of Speech and Language Therapy

As the Department of Speech and Language Therapy, we organized a meaningful event on March 6th, the European Day of Speech and Language Therapy. The White Coat Ceremony, marking an important step for our students entering the profession, was held with great enthusiasm. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Vice Dean, faculty members, students, and guests.

Emphasis on the Importance of Speech and Language Therapists

The ceremony began with opening speeches by Prof. Dr. Rıfat MUTUŞ, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, and Dr. Deniz YILDIZ, Head of the Department. They emphasized the critical role of speech and language therapists in communication and public health. The significance of this special day was highlighted, and students were encouraged to contribute to the advancement of the field.

Students received their white coats from faculty members,reaffirming their commitment to the profession. This symbolic moment marked a major milestone in shaping their professional identity.

Since March 6th is recognized as the European Day of Speech and Language Therapy,  the event also played an important role in raising awareness about speech and communication disorders in society.
