Laboratory and Research Areas

Speech and Language Therapy Laboratory is located in Istanbul Gelisim University J Block -2nd floor. This laboratory was established to enable the faculty members and students of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy to perform their clinical applications and scientific research. Our laboratory, which was created to support our education and research activities for our students of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy, benefits our students with state-of-the-art equipment.

Assessment Tools Used in Laboratory and Their Uses

Pronunciation Phonics Test : It is a comprehensive test that offers our students the opportunity to be evaluated in the field of pronunciation and phonics. 

Aphasia Language Assessment Test: It is a test used to evaluate the speech and language skills of aphasia patients and to plan appropriate therapeutic interventions.

Nasometer: A device used to detect hyper- and hyponasal speech disorders by measuring the airflow through the nose during sound production.

Portable Videootoscope and Stroboscopy: Portable videootoscope and stroboscopy devices used in ear, nose and throat examinations offer our students the opportunity for visual evaluation.

Vocal Assessment: A comprehensive assessment tool used to evaluate vocal cord function and voice quality.

Pitch Master: It is a device used for pitch control and evaluation, which has an important place especially in voice training and rehabilitation.
 
In addition to providing our students with practical experience, our laboratory aims to teach the most up-to-date and effective methods to be used in the diagnosis and treatment of speech and language disorders.
