Within the scope of the training, comprehensive evaluations were made regarding language development in individuals with autism spectrum disorder, the support of communication skills, and intervention approaches tailored to individual needs. It was emphasized that practices aimed at improving language skills are not limited solely to verbal expression, but are also of great importance in supporting receptive language, social communication, interaction skills, and functional communication in daily life.
The program also addressed topics such as how the assessment process should be planned for individuals with different developmental profiles, how intervention goals should be determined, and the importance of family involvement in the therapy process. In addition to gaining knowledge about current practices, participants had the opportunity to develop their professional perspectives on clinical processes.
At the end of the event, students benefited from experience-based knowledge sharing by asking questions they were curious about, and the online training concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session. The Department of Speech and Language Therapy at Istanbul Gelisim University continues to organize such academic activities that support the professional development of its students.
