 Academic Participation from the Department of Speech and Language Therapy at the 1st Graduate Academic Studies Congress


Faculty members from our department presented papers at the 1st Graduate Academic Studies Congress, hosted by the Graduate School of Istanbul Gelisim University on May 04–05, 2026.


The 1st Graduate Academic Studies Congress, hosted by the Graduate School of Istanbul Gelisim University, was held on May 04–05, 2026. During the congress, scientific studies prepared by the academics of our department were presented.

As part of the congress, Lecturer Seda KETEN presented the paper titled “The Effects of Perinatal HIV Exposure and HIV Infection on Language and Speech Development in Children: A Review of Current Literature”, co-authored with Dr. Çiğdem Eryılmaz Canlı.

In addition, Lecturer Sena Gülfem BÜYÜKÇOLAK presented the paper titled “The Effects of Congenital Cytomegalovirus Infection on Language and Speech Development: A Review of Current Literature”, co-authored by Lecturer Seda KETEN and Assist. Prof. Dr. Deniz YILDIZ.

Another study presented at the congress was the paper titled “Early Identification of Language and Speech Disorders in the Preschool Period”, presented by Lecturer Seda KETEN and co-authored by Dr. Çiğdem Eryılmaz Canlı and Research Assistant Ayşe Büşra CİĞER from the Department of Child Development.

Furthermore, Research Assistant Büşra KURTCU presented the paper titled “A Pipeline-Based Multidimensional Taxonomy of Artificial Intelligence Methods in Hearing Aids”, prepared in collaboration with Research Assistant Saim HATİPOĞLU from the Department of Software Engineering, highlighting current approaches in hearing technologies.

The congress brought together researchers from different disciplines and contributed to scientific knowledge sharing as well as the development of academic collaborations.
