Istanbul Gelisim University Department of Nursing Successfully Completed AHPGS Accreditation Renewal Process
Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing has achieved a significant success in line with its goal of continuing its education and research activities at international standards. Within the scope of the accreditation renewal process carried out by the Germany-based AHPGS (Accreditation Agency for Study Programmes in Health and Social Sciences), the department successfully completed the accreditation renewal process with a two-day visit.
AHPGS, as a globally recognised accreditation body that evaluates the compliance of study programmes in health and social sciences with international quality standards, has once again confirmed the quality of the programme with this accreditation renewal granted to Istanbul Gelisim University Department of Nursing. The accreditation process further strengthens the department academically and provides its students and graduates with a globally recognised education.
Following the meetings between the AHPGS delegation and our department lecturers on the improvements made in the last five years, laboratories, libraries and classrooms were visited to evaluate our department facilities and to share opinions for improvement. On the second day of the visit, the delegation held a meeting with our students and listened to the opportunities of the university, the improvements in the department and the experiences of the students and received feedback from the students. As a result of the evaluations, it was once again emphasised that the education quality of Istanbul Gelisim University Department of Nursing meets international standards.
During the two-day visit, members of the AHPGS accreditation committee meticulously examined the Department of Nursing's educational programmes, teaching staff, student support services and research activities. In addition, a series of interviews and evaluation meetings were held regarding the department. As a result of the evaluations, it was concluded that the education quality of Istanbul Gelisim University Department of Nursing meets international standards.
