The 13th International Congress on Accounting and Finance Research (ICAFR’26), held under the chairmanship of faculty members from Kilis 7 Aralık University, was organized as a significant international scientific platform bringing together academics, researchers, and scholars working in the fields of accounting and finance.

Continuing its scientific activities since 2013, ICAFR aims to strengthen academic interaction and collaboration, facilitate the sharing of current research conducted in the disciplines of accounting and finance, advance scientific knowledge, and increase interdisciplinary interaction among researchers.

Considering the current economic, technological, and structural transformations affecting the fields of accounting and finance, the main theme of the congress was determined as “The Accounting and Finance Ecosystem in Sustainable Development.” Within this framework, current developments in the disciplines of accounting and finance, the effects of digital transformation and artificial intelligence applications, the roles of accounting and finance in sustainable development processes, and the integration of technological innovations into financial and managerial processes were addressed from a scientific perspective.

The scientific sessions and academic evaluations held within the scope of the congress provided an opportunity to discuss the current effects of transformations in the fields of accounting and finance, as well as their potential future implications. With contributions from scholars representing different institutions and disciplines, the congress offered an important academic platform for supporting scientific knowledge production, developing academic collaborations, and promoting research focused on sustainable development.

During a session held as part of the congress, the scientific study entitled “Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence Research on Accounting Professionals: A Systematic Review of the Turkish-Language Literature,” jointly prepared by Asst.
