Under the new application, a unique QR code is assigned to each area requiring cleaning. Cleaning staff scan these codes to record their tasks into the digital system. In this way, cleaning activities are both monitored in real time and transformed into measurable and transparent data for quality audits.
According to experts, the QR Code Cleaning Application will contribute to:
- Preventing hospital-acquired infections,
- Enabling managers to instantly report on cleaning processes,
- Improving resource planning and workforce management,
- Ensuring stronger protection for patient and staff safety.
Res. Asst. Semanur OKTAY from the Department of Health Management, Faculty of Health Sciences at Istanbul Gelişim University emphasized that this application represents a significant step in terms of digital transformation and quality management in healthcare institutions. She noted that the system not only simplifies hygiene control for health managers but also provides important opportunities in performance measurement, cost-effectiveness, and service efficiency.
This initiative, taken in line with the goals of quality and safety in healthcare services, also serves as a model for the digitalization of other support services in the future. As a result, the vision of digital health management in Türkiye’s healthcare institutions will be further strengthened.
