Starting from May 6, under the new regulation, citizens whose registered family physician is located in a different province from their actual place of residence will have their registration automatically transferred to a family physician closer to their current address. This change aims to improve access to healthcare services for people in their place of residence.
General Director of Public Health, Muhammed Emin Demirkol, stated that with this application, it is aimed for people to reach their family doctor more easily in their place of residence and to benefit from preventive health services effectively. The family doctor registration of citizens who have not received health services in the province they are registered for a year will be transferred to the province where their residence address is located and the closest suitable family doctor will be assigned to these people.
Citizens who wish to revert to their previous family physician can do so within one month via the e-Government (e-Devlet) portal or the e-Nabız system. The Ministry of Health will inform affected individuals of these changes via SMS.
This regulation applies only to thoAs part of its “Healthy Türkiye Century” vision, the Ministry of Health is introducing a significant innovation in the family medicine system to enhance the effectiveness of preventive health services. se whose place of registration and residence are in different provinces. Citizens living in different districts within the same province are not affected by this update at this stage.
Given the vital role of a strong family medicine system in building a healthy society, this change is expected to increase screening rates and improve access to preventive health services.
