The research, titled "An Investigation into the Suitability of Accessible Parks Used by Disabled Children in Istanbul: A Descriptive Field Study," was presented at the 8th International Istanbul Contemporary Scientific Research Congress.
The study examined the accessibility of children with special needs to playgrounds, environmental regulations, and urban barriers through on-site observations. The findings revealed that many parks do not meet accessibility standards and offered important recommendations for local governments.
Büşra Sayir stated, "Accessible cities are possible not only through architectural but also through public awareness. This study sets a valuable example in terms of both academic and social responsibility."
