The event titled “Parkinson’s Disease from All Aspects: Living with Parkinson’s Disease”, organized at Istanbul Gelisim University, was conducted as a comprehensive program addressing various dimensions of Parkinson’s disease within a scientific and practical framework.
During the first part of the program, the diagnostic process, clinical findings, motor and non-motor symptoms, pathophysiological foundations, and current treatment approaches were discussed in detail. Particular emphasis was placed on dopamine deficiency, as well as motor symptoms such as bradykinesia, rigidity, tremor, and postural instability. Additionally, the impact of non-motor symptoms—including olfactory dysfunction, sleep disorders, depression, autonomic dysfunction, and cognitive impairment—on patients’ quality of life was highlighted.
