Orientation Meeting Held for the Child Development English Program for the 2026-2027 Academic Year


An 2026-2027 Academic Year Fall Semester Orientation Meeting was held for students of the Child Development English Program at Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Health Sciences. During the meeting, students were provided with information regarding academic and institutional processes in order to support their adaptation to the university, faculty, and department.


As part of the orientation, the structure of Istanbul Gelisim University and the Faculty of Health Sciences was introduced, and information was provided about the aims and objectives of the Department of Child Development. The importance of professional competencies related to assessing and supporting children’s cognitive, language, motor, social, emotional, and self-care development was emphasized. In addition, fundamental professional principles such as commitment to ethical values, professional responsibility, following scientific developments, and respect for human rights and individual differences were addressed.

During the meeting, students were introduced to the academic staff of the department. Examples of academic studies, student projects, and scientific research opportunities within the department were also shared. Information was provided about educational materials developed within the scope of courses and student projects supported by the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program.

Students were also informed about Istanbul Gelisim University’s mission, vision, sustainability approach, and international activities. In this way, the orientation aimed to help students become more familiar with the university’s academic structure and the opportunities available to them.

In the final part of the meeting, students’ questions regarding the educational process, departmental procedures, and university life were answered by the academic staff. The orientation concluded after the main issues students were curious about regarding the new academic year were addressed.
